Live players and auto-sync now work on Fabric 1.21.8 servers
Download Fabric 1.21.8 from your world's Live players page, put it in the server's mods folder with Fabric API, and restart.
- π Fixed
Updated maps no longer come out with blank patches
A few maps updated in the last week had squares that wouldn't load. We've fixed the cause and drawn the affected maps again.
- π Fixed
Realm maps keep updating when a Realm backup comes out incomplete
Realms sometimes saves a backup while the world is busy. Auto-sync now uses the backup before it, or maps what's there, instead of failing with βThis copy of the world is incompleteβ.
- π Fixed
Worlds from the newest Java versions show their blocks again
Maps of Java worlds saved by the very latest versions came out plain grey. They show every block in its colour again from their next render.
- π Fixed
Auto-sync works for large Realms
Realms over about a gigabyte kept failing to sync. Their maps now update on schedule again, from the Realm's most recent backup.
- π Fixed
Fences, chorus and bamboo take their real shape in the isometric view
On older Bedrock worlds, fences and chorus plants were drawn as full blocks, and ground behind bamboo, dripstone and chorus was missing. Fixed from your map's next render.
- π Fixed
Marker icons and player heads without a dark frame in the isometric view
Your own marker icons and players' heads now show as they are, as on the 2D map.
- π Fixed
Drawing a region inside another one keeps your new region
Finishing on the first corner sometimes threw away the new shape and picked the larger region around it. Click off a region, or press Esc, to unselect it too.
- β¨ New
Choose which regions show on the map
The regions button opens a list: switch each region on or off, so cities and their districts can be seen apart, and click a name to go to it.
- β¨ New
Go straight to any marker from the markers list
Open the markers button, open a type and click a marker to zoom to it, or search by name. The list now scrolls, and Show all and Hide all sit at the top.
- β¨ New
Maps can follow the time of day in your world
When night falls in your world, it falls on the map too, in 2D and isometric. Switch it on under World's time in your world's settings, with Bedrock Relay or our Java plugin connected.
- β¨ New
Choose the seed and version for unexplored land
If your world was made with a different seed or in an older version, put them in under Unexplored land in your world's Viewer defaults, and the unexplored land on your map is drawn from those.
- π Fixed
Unexplored hills and mountains show their own biome, not the caves under them
The biome shown as you point at the map, and the colours of unexplored land, no longer say lush caves or dripstone caves where the ground is high.
- π Fixed
Links to the isometric view show a picture of your map
Sharing an isometric map link in Discord or elsewhere now shows your map and its description, just like a link to the regular map.
- π Fixed
The biggest worlds, and Java worlds from 26.1 on, get the faster maps too
A few of the largest worlds couldnβt be drawn since the speed-up, and Java worlds saved in 26.1 or later were still drawn the slow way. Both now render quickly; thereβs nothing you need to do.
- β¨ New
Change your settings or cancel a render while it waits in the queue
Settings you save while your render is waiting are used when it starts. You can also cancel it from your worldβs page; if it hadnβt started yet, you get that render back for the day.
- π Fixed
Linking Bedrock Relay no longer stops your existing auto-sync
If your map already synced another way, it keeps doing so until Bedrock Relay can copy your world, and the Auto-sync page says what Relay still needs. When a copy fails, you now see why within a minute instead of hours later.
- β¨ New
Choose whether your map shows spawn
Turn off Show spawn in your world's Viewer defaults to leave the spawn pin off the map.
- π οΈ Improved
Glass looks like glass in the isometric view
Glass is now see-through and tinted instead of just its frame. Choose how solid it looks under Isometric view in your world's Viewer defaults.
- β¨ New
Step through a map's history in the isometric view
The isometric view now has the timeline, and its controls sit where they do on the 2D map. Switching between 2D and isometric keeps your spot, zoom and snapshot.
- π Fixed
No more holes in the sea in the isometric view
Seagrass, kelp and other underwater blocks reaching the surface showed as dark holes in the water. The water is drawn over them now.
- β¨ New
Grass, flowers and waterfalls in the isometric view
Plants, carpets and torches are drawn on the ground, waterfalls fall all the way down, and running water lies lower as it flows. They appear after your map's next render.
- π οΈ Improved
The map's controls take less room on phones and tablets
The dimension and 2D/Isometric switches show just their icons on smaller screens, so more of the map is visible.
- π Fixed
Pinch to zoom in the isometric view
On phones and tablets you can now pinch to zoom the isometric view, and move it with two fingers.
- β¨ New
Move the sun through the day in the isometric view
On Premium maps, the clock button in the isometric view moves the sun across the sky with its shadows, then the moon. At noon it's where the map's own sun is.
- β¨ New
See your world at dusk or by night, lit by its own lamps
Premium maps can be shown at dusk or night, lit by your torches, lanterns and lava, in 2D and isometric. Choose how yours opens under Time of day in Viewer defaults.
- π Fixed
The isometric view runs smoother on phones, and keeps working
It uses far less memory, draws at a sensible sharpness on phone screens, and if your browser pauses it, it picks up again on its own.
- π Fixed
Patches of missing ground on some Bedrock maps
Worlds saved by recent Bedrock versions could show square patches of bare stone where the surface should be, in 2D and isometric. Your map's next render draws them properly.
- β¨ New
Markers and players in the isometric view
Markers stand on the ground, roofs and hills where they are in the world, and players online move about at their height. Click a player in the list to follow them.
- π Fixed
Synced maps update much faster, redrawing only what changed
Each sync was redrawing the whole map, which could take hours on a big world. Now only the parts of the world that changed since the last update are drawn again.
- π Fixed
Big world uploads no longer stop partway
Large worlds upload reliably again, and a dropped connection or a sleeping computer only pauses the upload. Pick the same file again and it carries on where it stopped, even as a new version of a world.
- π Fixed
Older Bedrock worlds' wool, concrete and planks in their colours in 3D
Worlds saved by older versions of Bedrock showed every coloured block as white and all planks as oak in the isometric view. They now show as they are, the next time the world renders.
- β¨ New
The isometric view shows blocks as they look in the game
Close up, blocks have their textures, and stairs, slabs, fences, trapdoors and doors have their real shapes, lit by your map's sun with its shadows. Your map gets them the next time it renders.
- π οΈ Improved
Maps are drawn several times faster
We've switched to our own map renderer: a big world that took an hour now takes minutes, and an update only redraws the parts of your world that changed. Shadows and textures look as before, with crisper details.
- π Fixed
Very old Pocket Edition worlds now say how to fix them
Worlds last saved before 2016 can't be mapped as they are. Instead of failing to render, the upload now asks you to open the world in today's Minecraft once and export it again.
- β¨ New
Java servers can keep their map up to date with our plugin
Update the plugin from the Live players page, then choose it on your world's Auto-sync page. It sends a fresh copy of the world on your schedule, and players won't notice.
- π Fixed
Dropping a world folder now tells you to zip it first
It used to say the file was empty. Pictures dragged around the dashboard no longer start an upload by mistake either.
- π Fixed
Java auto-sync works on Minecraft 26.1 and newer
The plugin sent each dimension on its own, so the copy was turned away. Download version 2.1.1 from your world's Live players page and replace the old one.
- π οΈ Improved
Clearer explanation of how inviting friends earns you a free month
The Invite friends section of your Account page now explains it step by step. You get your month when a friend pays for Premium, and it shows which friends haven't paid yet.
- β¨ New
Download your own world file
Get back the world file you last uploaded from your world's Downloads page, even with visitor downloads switched off.
- π οΈ Improved
Choose exactly what an embedded map shows
Pick each control one by one, which markers, players and regions show, and a snapshot to open on. It's all on your world's Embed page, in the code you copy.
- β¨ New
Choose how your world looks on the community page
Pick its picture, write a line for its card, and choose which details show, with a preview beside it. It's on your world's Visibility page.
- β¨ New
Your first month of Premium for Β£1 during your trial
Subscribe before your free trial ends and your first month is Β£1, $1 or β¬1, then the usual price. It's on the pricing page while your trial lasts.
- π οΈ Improved
See each step of a render as it happens
Your world's overview now lists every step of a render and ticks them off, with what it's doing right now. With Premium, the isometric view is built last, after your map is live.
- π οΈ Improved
The isometric view shows what's really there
Floating islands float, bridges have space under them, and houses have walls under their roofs. Maps get it the next time they render.
- β¨ New
Show your map in your own Discord server
Add the BedrockMap bot from your world's Discord settings. People there can use /map, /online and /find, and Premium maps can post each time they update.
- π οΈ Improved
See how far Sync now has got
After Sync now, your world's Auto-sync page shows each step as it happens: copying, uploading with how much has arrived, then rendering.
- π Fixed
Isometric view for worlds with a slightly damaged save
Some worlds rendered their map but got no isometric view because one part of the save couldn't be read. That part is now skipped and the rest is shown.
- β¨ New
Pay for Premium with Discord from the pricing page
Prefer Discord to a card form? The pricing page now offers Pay with Discord next to the usual button. Connect Discord to your account first.
- β¨ New
The isometric view now shows the Nether and the End
Switch dimensions at the top of the isometric view. The Nether follows its 2D map: no roof, and with x-ray on (the default) you see the cavern floors.
- π οΈ Improved
The isometric view keeps its shape when you zoom out
Caves, overhangs, trees and bridges no longer turn into pillars when you zoom out. Re-render your world to see it.
